Still Styling Summer? | STYLING

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope you had a great weekend! And more importantly, a positive and productive Monday?!
...
No me neither, but we've got to get back to the grind, right?

Today I have another outfit post for you, another summers outfit - because I'm not ready to let go yet - and I talk about how I style this layering trend and what I think about it. So if you'd like to find that our as well as all outfit details then just keep reading!

So yesterday was a gorgeously hot day; it was the perfect summers day (in September?)! The sun was beaming, so Thomas and I had brunch at Bills (which is amazing by the way, you NEED to go!) and then he took these great shots of me. After a filling breakfast wasn't the best idea, but we made it work. I feel so comfortable taking (we call it) ''outfit pictures''  with anyone to be honest, but when it's him I feel extra comfortable and I think we get the best shots together!

The outfit I wore was a new addition, and style, to my wardrobe. I purchased this black satin slip dress from H&M on Saturday in Kingston, and arguably this style is ''so last season'', but I think it still works amongst street style? I don't notice styles or trends to fall in and out of style as quickly on the street as it does on the catwalk because, quite obviously, as a student I can't afford to grab the latest designer piece off the runway quite like the celebs can. So, I make it work my way.

Plus I like wearing some styles late because then I may be one of few still wearing it...and that makes me feel special (haha!).

These pieces are so easy to wear on an every day basis. I feel like I say this a lot in my 'style' posts, but I love basics and anything that is easy to wear so that I can incorporate it in my own way, I can style it in my own way and then later on I may be able to twist this style and wear it again, but differently. You know? When it comes to affordable style this is the approach that works best for me.

For example, imagine wearing this dress without a white T underneath; it would completely change the vibes and instantly make the outfit look more dressy and sexy (due to the material). Strut around in pair of lace up stilettos and you've got yourself a sexy LBD for next Saturday night.

Instead, wear a white T, a chunky knit cardigan, some tights and Dr Martens and you've got yourself the perfect grungy go-to.

As I always say, its about finding easy, versatile pieces that you can make lots of different outfit combos out of!

Please let me know what you think of this outfit guys, I promise I will move onto more A/W outfits soon, I just can't say goodbye to summer yet!
